If your child is ill to the extent that it interrupts the care or
endangers the health of the other children, it will be
necessary to make other arrangements for his/her care.
Should your child become ill during his/her day here, you will
be notified and we will determine the best course of action
concerning appropriate care, which may include the child
being taken home.
Children are to be kept home when they show any of the
following symptoms:
Runny nose with discoloration
Communicable Illness
Cough and congestion
Diarrhea
Discharge from eyes, ears, or nose
Earache
Fever
Head Lice
Impetigo
Rash
Ringworm
Severe headache
Upset Stomach
Children are not to return to school UNTIL THEY HAVE
BEEN FREE OF SUCH SYMPTOMS FOR AT LEAST 24
HOURS.
If your child will be absent, PLEASE CALL THE SCHOOL
and let the teachers know. If your child has been absent for
3 days or more he/she will need a doctors excuse to return
to the Center.
In addition, a child that just absolutely needs one-on-one
care that we simply cannot give while being fair to the other
children should be kept at home.
We ask that you give consideration to the other children
when deciding whether or not your child should remain at
home.
Any child recovering from a communicable disease shall be
readmitted to the center with written approval from their
doctor. If no physician is in attendance, the child may not be
readmitted until the recommended time period has elapsed
as per the local and/or state health department.
Emergency phone numbers must be on the child’s
information form in the event that parents cannot be located
to come for the child. In case of sudden acute illness or
serious injury of a child, emergency medical care shall be
obtained and the parents notified as soon as possible.
THE PARENTS, NOT LORD OF LIFE CHILD
DEVELOPMENT CENTER, ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
PRIMARY MEDICAL COVERAGE THAT MAY BE
NECESSARY AS A RESULT OF ILLNESS OR INJURY TO
A CHILD WHILE AT OUR CENTER.
One of the most serious challenges facing group care
situations for young children is preventing illness. The staff
will strive to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.
Proper hand washing procedures will be followed and taught
to the children. The toys, eating surfaces and toileting and
diaper equipment will be sanitized between children’s use.
