Water Activities
During the months of June, July, and August, our Center
does participate in water activities at Parker Pool located at
1456 Waldron Rd. Children ages 6 years thru 12 years of
age are eligible to participate in this activity.
Transportation for after school care
Flour Bluff Independent School District transports students
from the school district to Lord of Life Child Development
Center during the months of August thru May.
We ask that you give consideration to the other children
when deciding whether or not your child should remain at
home.
Seat Belt Safety
Senate Bill 113 specifies a child who is younger than four
years of age or is less than 36 inches in height must be
secured during the operation of the vehicle in a child
passenger safety seat system according to the instructions
of the manufacturer of the safety seat system. “Passenger
vehicle” means a passenger car, light truck, sport utility
vehicle, truck, or truck tractor designed to carry no more
than 10 occupants including the driver. If you are unsure
about your vehicle classification, you should contact your
local DPS office for clarification and applicability of the law.
Emergency Procedures
Fire and evacuation drills are held monthly to acquaint your
child with evacuation procedures. The evacuation routes are
posted in each classroom. If the building must be evacuated,
the children will be taken to the Family Life Center of St.
Peter’s By the Sea United Methodist Church. Parents or
emergency persons listed on the enrollment form will be
contacted. If your child is injured, a trained staff member
will provide first aid and you will be contacted. If necessary
your physician will be notified and 911 emergency personnel
will also be called. If your child needs to be transported by
an ambulance, a staff member will accompany your child.
